Executive Council of the
Principality
The Executive Council is the
senior decision-making body and executive branch of the
Government of the Principality; however, as it is made up
partially of officers of the Legislative Assembly and
high-ranking members of the Judicature, among others, the
various branches of government can be said to overlap in
the Council.
Members of the Executive Council are selected by the
Prince in accordance with procedures described in the
Constitution. The Executive Council is responsible for the
day-to-day administration of the Government. In this role,
its members work with the various branches of Government,
with other Councilors, or as individuals. The Reigning
Prince, who is himself a member of the Executive Council,
cannot retreat from Council without risking having his
powers suspended by a Regency.
