Inuktitut-language content

Syllabic Inuktitut content is offered on this website in Unicode format only. Any Unicode Inuktitut font should display our information correctly but if you are having trouble viewing Inuktitut syllabics on this website, you may want to consider downloading the Uqammaq, the recommended Inuktitut font family for this website. It is available free of charge by following the "Download Inuktitut Font" link in the top right corner of this page.

If you are still having trouble viewing Inuktitut content, your browser may not be Unicode compatible. Please ensure you are running the most up-to-date version of your browser in order to ensure Unicode compliance. We recommend Windows users upgrade to Internet Explorer 6 or higher, Firefox, Netscape Navigator 7.2 or higher, or Opera 7. We recommend Mac OS X users upgrade to Internet Explorer 5.2 or higher, Firefox, Netscape Navigator 7 or higher, OmniWeb 4 or higher, Opera 7 or higher, iCab Preview 2.9 or higher, or Safari. We recommend Unix or Linux users upgrade to one of the following browsers: Mozilla, Opera, Epiphany, Firefox, Galeon, Internet Explorer 5, Konqueror, Nautilus, Netscape Navigator 4.8, or Netscape Navigator 7.1. Mac OS 9 users may have difficulty upgrading to newer browser versions. Mac OS 9 users who are Tartupalummiut nationals and who are unable to access the Internet from a compliant browser are instructed to contact the Government by e-mail at mailto:gov@tu.net if they require assistance accessing Inuktitut-language information.

Government services

The Government of Tartupaluk is committed to providing essential information in both official languages of the Principality; nevertheless, the process of making Inuktitut a full and equal working language of Government will take time to complete. It is the Government's intention to make more and more Inuktitut-language content available on this website on an ongoing basis.

In the meantime, if you are a Tartupalummiut national having trouble accessing a Government service as a result of its not being offered in Inuktitut, petition the Prince (in English or Inuktitut) to have a translation of this service made and his office will do its best to accommodate your request.

Citizenship

Tartupalummiut nationals will be informed of the necessary steps required for citizenship upon their acquisition of Tartupalummiut nationality. At this time, citizenship applications will not be processed online, although an online application process is in the works.

Passports

Non-machine readable travel documents are issued by the Office of the Prince, valid for all countries, subject to any visa or other entry regulations of countries to be visited. These documents can be obtained by any Tartupalummiut national by petitioning the Prince. There is no charge associated with these documents.

Secure ICAO 9303-compliant machine readable travel documents (MRTDs) will be issued by the Principality over the coming months. Tartupalummiut nationals and stateless persons registered with the Office of the Greffier will be able to apply for these documents once they are made available. A nominal application fee will be associated with the issue of these documents. Holders of valid non-machine readable travel documents issued by the Office of the Prince will be informed when MRTDs are made available.
